There
are so many areas of need in this particular
ministry. The list of need is absolutely
endless, but this is a good place to start. We
need:
People to wash,
organize and pack clothing for distribution.
People to go to the places that donate food and
transport it back to Livingway>
People to organize the food donated and prepare
it for distribution>
People to go out on the bus on Saturdays to
distribute food and clothing.
People to chaperone the buses on Sundays, to
greet our guests and answer any questions they
may have.
The Livingway Care Corps Ministry is at the very
heart of God! Each Saturday, we go out to
several locations in the city where there are
people in need. Not just in need of Jesus, but
in need of the provisions necessary to life:
food, water, clothing, blankets, etc.
“And Saul said, Blessed be ye of the LORD; for
ye have compassion on me.”
1 Samuel 23:21
On
Sunday mornings, the bus returns to those same
locations to transport our guests to Livingway
for the Contemporary Christian Service held at
11:00 a.m.
Immediately following that service, the Care
Corps Kitchen Ministry serves a hot meal to our
guests in Livingway’s Care Corps Building.
“And
whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the
Lord, and not unto men;”
Colossians 3:23
There is a passage of Scripture in Matthew that
tells us how close this ministry is to God. When
our King welcomes those of us who are the
righteous and gives us our inheritance of the
kingdom, it will be because we have, among other
things, fed Him when He was hungry, gave Him
water when He was thirsty, and clothed Him when
He was naked. When we, the righteous, ask the
King when we ever fed Him or gave Him something
to drink or clothed Him, this will be His reply:
“And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done
it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.”
Matthew 25:40
We cannot feed Jesus in the flesh, but we can
feed the hungry of San Antonio. And, in doing
so, He said that we have done these things unto
Him. No greater motivation should be
necessary! What a wonderful way to bless Jesus! |
