A Plant Ministry?  What on earth is a Plant Ministry?  Is there really such a thing?  Yes!

If you have been in most of the Livingway Buildings, you have certainly seen greenery, sometimes in great abundance!  In both the New Sanctuary Building and the Family Life Center, there is a profusion of plants everywhere you look.

What do people in the Plant Ministry do?  They shop and locate the needed plants at the best price possible.  Once these plants are put in proper pots and artfully arranged, they require care and maintenance to look their best at all times.  Both the pots and the plants must be cleaned on a regular basis.

Another thing that the Plant Ministry does is decorate our buildings for specific holidays, such as Christmas.  They are also responsible for the moving and rearranging of plants for special events such as drama presentations, weddings, etc.

“ … blessed the work of his hands…” Job 1:10

The Plant Ministry meets bi-monthly to participate in their regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance day.  On the average, it takes about one and one-half hours to clean the pots and plants.

Now, you understand the ‘Plant’ angle.  Why do we call it a ‘Ministry’?  This falls under the heading of caring for the Sanctuary or the Temple.  This is a meeting place for God and man to come together and fellowship with one another.  Therefore, we strive to make His house as appealing as we would strive to make our personal homes.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” Colossians 3:23

 If you have the gift of floral arranging, we need your artistry and creativity in this ministry!  If you just love to care for the house of God, we would love for you to come and help us clean and maintain our plants so that His house is attractive to all!
