The vision of the Livingway Church Substance Abuse Overcomers Ministry is to unify the Power of Jesus Christ with the Twelve Step Program to transform the lives of individual believers and families affected by alcohol and other drug addiction. It is our desire to empower individuals to recognize Jesus Christ as their complete source of strength as we come together and share the Word, testimonies, strength and hope.

This is a class designed to build Christian Substance Abuse Overcomers who actively share testimonies and ideas to strengthen both believers and non-believers. We want to enable people to more effectively carry the message of the Gospel and 12 Step Recovery to the Church - to believers who are wounded and to those who are already on the road to recovery. 

Our purpose is to provide spiritual guidance and insight through the Word of God as it relates to this subject. Anyone needing counseling, medical or professional assistance will be referred to the church. Abundantly, it is our intention to feed our attendees the Word of God, Pray for them, Love them and communicate with them often.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Currently, this ministry meets once a month on the second Friday night of each month from 7:00 p.m. until approximately 8:15 p.m. in the Livingway Family Life Center.  In a few months, the schedule will be increased to two meetings per month.

This ministry is intended to not only help those who are bound by addiction themselves, but also to share ministry tools with those who live or deal with loved ones who are addicted so they can effectively minister deliverance also.

We have testimony after testimony of God’s deliverance.  These are shared on a regular basis in these meetings.  It is exciting to acknowledge what God has done in someone else’s life, but it is even more thrilling to step into the knowledge that everything God has done for them, He is ready, willing and able to do in your life as well!
