The Word of God teaches the value of making yourself available to be a ‘doorkeeper in the house of the Lord’.  This is just what the Usher Ministry does at every service and special event at Livingway Church.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.” 1 Corinthians 14:40

Livingway is blessed to have such a wonderful group of men and women that serve our congregation skillfully and lovingly.  They meet people… they greet people… they seat people… they assist the Altar Ministers in ministering to the needs of those who come to the front.  And they do all of these things well!

“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:” Proverbs 18:24

Due to our increased seating capacity, Livingway needs more Ushers to enable us to serve everyone quickly and efficiently during each service.

In order to become an Usher, you must become a member of Livingway Church.  You do this by completing Class 101: Discovering Livingway Membership.  This class is held on the first Sunday of each month from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Two other classes are also required once you become an Usher (if you have not already completed them).  Class 201: Discovering Spiritual Maturity and Class 301: Discovering My Ministry.

“Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.”

The Usher Ministry meets on the last Sunday of each month for the purpose of distributing monthly schedules and discussing upcoming Livingway events.  The Ushers are constantly working to find ways to enrich their organization and its participants.

The Usher Ministry is in full operation each Sunday at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and any special services or events here at Livingway Church.  This ministry is a real blessing to Livingway, as well as being a blessing to those who actively serve as Ushers.
